Executive Board Meeting

In attendance:  Connie Larson, Cathy Pazzelli, Cheryl Minter, Nancy Tepovich, and Donna Hoffer.

 

The next AHRA quarterly meeting will be August 25, 2006 at the IRR Office in Eveleth.  Peter Kuzj, Principal Safety Consultant for the MN OSHA Consultation Unit, in Minneapolis, MN, is the guest speaker – his topic will focus on Violence in the Workplace. This program has been approved for 1.00 recertification credits toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI).

 

The October seminar which will be held on October 4 at the Mt. Iron Community Center has also been approved for 5.25 recertification credits.  35 people have pre-registered.  Registration fee is $10.00 for AHRA members and $15.00 for non-members.  Coffee and roll served in the morning with lunch being ‘build a sandwich’, cookies/bars, and beverage.  Several prizes will be awarded with many items donated by area businesses.

 

2007 officer elections will be held at the next regular meeting.  Nancy will send out a request for nominations to current members.  Review the by-laws regarding absentee ballots and what constitutes a quorum.  The official ballot will be ready for the October 25 meeting.

 

A motion by Cheryl. for AHRA to have a drawing to pay the registration fee ($249 early bird) for 2 members to attend the state SHRM conference in St. Cloud on October 15-17.  Nancy will e-mail members requesting interested persons to contact her to have their name submitted in the drawing.  Motion approved.  AHRA will donate a $100 basket to MN SHRM conference raffle, motion by Cathy.  Motion approved.  Nancy will obtain. 

 

AHRA has received a tax ID number.  It has been recommended that AHRA look for an accountant to help with the filing of taxes at the end of this year.

 

Connie submitted the by-laws to SHRM for review but they have not been returned to her.  The revised by-laws need to be approved at the next meeting.

 

Connie reviewed  the names of members involved in the CAPs (Chapter Achievement Plan).  The CAPs is due January 31, 2007.  Designated AHRA members are:

The next board meeting will be held in November for transition of old and new members.
